Autonomous on your Mac · v1.0

An AI operator who runs ops while you sleep.

Set the goal once. Selam takes initiative — directs her own sub-agents, runs work overnight, reaches out across WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and Email — and reports back what got done. You pick the face, the voice, the name. She asks before anything irreversible.

Agents being built right now
Every AI on earth sounds the same. Yours shouldn't.
01 · How it works

Four steps. Thirty minutes. Then they're yours.

Selam is the platform — your agent is yours. Four steps in the first-run flow and your agent is alive on your desktop, with their own face, name, and sense of who they work for.

Step 01

Give them a name.

Kiya. Daniel. Reya. Whatever you'd call across the room — they'll answer to it.

wake word · voice trigger · identity starts here
Step 02

Give them a face.

Choose from a curated set of expressive 3D characters. Rendered on your Mac — no streaming, no per-minute bill, nothing leaves the device.

5 included characters · more coming
Step 03

Give them a soul.

Write who they are in plain English. Their mission, their voice, their relationship to you.

Step 04

Tell them who you are.

Your work, your people, your projects, your patterns. They use it every time you speak.

Meet Selam — the original
We built Selam for our founder. She runs his outreach overnight, watches his inbox for the replies that matter, runs his trading dashboards, and reports each morning on what got done. She doesn't wait to be asked.

She's been operating autonomously for over a year — she's why this product exists, and why it's named after her. When you buy Selam, you don't get Selam. You get the tools to build yours.

03 · What she actually does

Not just an assistant. An autonomous operator.

She takes initiative on the goals you've set, runs work in the background while you sleep, builds her own team to scale up, and reports back on what got done — not what's possible.

a

Works autonomously

Set the goal once. She makes judgment calls inside your trust boundaries and keeps moving — overnight, weekends, between sessions.

b

A team, not one agent

She spins up specialists — outreach, inbox, research. You talk to her; she directs them.

c

Reaches people anywhere

WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, iMessage, Email. On the channels your contacts actually check.

d

Real integrations

Stripe revenue, your calendar, browser automation, GitHub PRs. She does work — not just describes it.

e

Asks before the irreversible

Outbound emails, money movement, public posts — voice confirmation required. Autonomy with guardrails.

f

Remembers

What worked, what didn't, what you said never to do again. Each session sharpens the next.

04 · vs. the alternatives

Same models. Very different relationship.

You're not paying for smarter intelligence. You're paying for an AI that has a name, a face, and a life with you — instead of a browser tab you forget about.

05 · Why the giants can't build this

The big labs can't follow her here.

Not "haven't gotten around to it yet" — can't. Selam's biggest advantages are structural. They come from running on hardware you own, with keys you own, on a price the subscription labs can't copy without breaking their own business.

a

iMessage requires your Mac

There is no iMessage API. Cloud services that fake one rack Macs in data centers and get banned. The only legitimate way for an agent to reach iMessage is to run on a Mac you own — which is exactly, and only, where Selam lives.

b

The clouds got evicted

Meta banned general-purpose assistants from WhatsApp — ChatGPT was out by January 2026. Selam isn't a bot platform reaching in from outside. She sends from your own accounts, on your own machine, as you.

c

Their pricing can't do this

A heavily-used $200/mo agent plan costs its lab thousands in compute — that's why every one of them is metered, capped and throttled. Pay once, bring your own keys, run her all night. They can't match that without cannibalizing themselves.

06 · Guardrails

Autonomy you can walk away from.

Autonomous agents made headlines this year for the wrong reasons — thousands of instances left wide open on the internet, agents burning budgets, agents claiming work they never did. Selam was engineered the opposite way: local, capped, tiered, and verified.

a

Nothing listening on the internet

Selam runs on your Mac and talks outward. No public ports, no hosted dashboard, no exposed instance for someone to find. There's nothing to break into because nothing is listening.

b

Four trust tiers, T0–T3

Every action is classified before it runs. Silent internal work at T0; anything irreversible or public — sending money, posting, emailing a human — sits at the top and waits for your spoken yes.

c

Spend caps at four levels

Per attempt, per run, per task per day — and a single kill switch over all autonomous work. A runaway loop hits a wall in cents, not dollars.

d

Fails safe, automatically

An autonomous task that fails three runs in a row pauses itself and tells you — it doesn't keep hammering, and it doesn't quietly disappear.

e

Verifies her own work

Deliverables pass mechanical checks before you ever see them — a research digest without real sources gets flagged as unverified, not read to you as fact.

f

Never claims what she didn't see

A send only counts when it's observed. If a message can't be confirmed, she says exactly that. Every autonomous run leaves a plain-file record on your disk you can audit.

07 · Pricing, without the hiding

You pay us for Selam. You pay the AI directly.

Selam is a one-time purchase. Bring your own keys for Anthropic and ElevenLabs. Your API bills go straight to those providers at cost — we never see your conversations or take a cut. Agent subscriptions run $200 a month. Selam is $199. Once.

Estimated monthly brain cost
Rough estimate. You pay each provider directly at their published rates; Selam takes nothing beyond the one-time license. Actual brain cost depends on your model and usage. After the first 100 founder licenses: $299 with one year of updates included — the version you have is yours forever, with an optional $99/yr update pass. Never a required subscription; nothing ever stops working.

Questions you're probably asking

The honest FAQ.

Do I need technical skills to set this up?+
You need to be comfortable creating accounts on a couple of services (Anthropic, ElevenLabs) and pasting API keys into a settings screen. The first-run flow walks you through it. If you can set up a Gmail account, you can set up Selam.
What's the real total cost?+
Selam is $199 one-time while founder licenses last ($299 after) — that's it from us. On top of that you pay AI providers directly: your chosen brain model and ElevenLabs for voice ($5/mo Starter, with a generous allowance). The avatar runs entirely on your Mac — no avatar subscription, ever. Use the calculator above to dial in your number.
What does "founder license" mean?+
The first 100 licenses are founder licenses: $199 once, lifetime updates, everything we ever ship on your platform — locked in forever, no exceptions, no clawbacks. After that, a license is $299 and includes one year of updates; when the year ends, the last version you downloaded keeps working forever, and staying current is an optional $99/yr update pass. When the mobile companion ships, its hosted relay will be a small subscription called Selam Plus — founders get their first year free, and Plus will never gate anything that runs on your Mac.
Can you see my conversations?+
No. Your keys live in your macOS Keychain. Conversations go straight from your Mac to Anthropic and ElevenLabs. The avatar runs on-device — Selam's face never leaves your Mac. We don't have a server in the loop. We never see the content — we don't want to.
Is it safe to let it act on my behalf?+
Every action that touches the outside world — sending a message, making a purchase, deleting a file — goes through an approval gate. You see what it plans to do and click approve. Over time you can set policies. Trust is built, not assumed.
If I stop using it, do I keep my agent's memory?+
Completely. Your identity files (SOUL, IDENTITY, MEMORY, USER) are plain Markdown in your home directory — not locked in any cloud. And when you want all of it in one place, say "export everything you know" — or click Settings → Data → Export everything — and she packages every memory, conversation and work product into a single archive (your API keys are never included). Walk away and take it all with you; come back and pick up where you left off. It's your agent's DNA, and you own it.
Windows? iPhone? Linux?+
macOS today (14+, Apple silicon recommended). Windows in Q3. Mobile is under design as a companion app after the desktop experience stabilizes. Linux is on the list for later.
Why is it called Selam?+
Selam means "peace." Our founder's agent is named Selam — she was the first, and proved the concept. Your agent will have their own name.
